Instrumental Therapy

Shock wave theraphy

Orthopedics and pain therapy use extracorporeal shock wave therapy to treat acute and chronic soft tissue pain in the support and locomotor system.

In particular, this refers to the following:

  • calcareous deposits in the shoulder (tendinosis calcarea)
  • tennis and golfer‘s elbow
  • (epicondylitis humeri radialis and ulnaris respectively)
  • heel spur (plantar fasciitis)
  • pain in the Achilles tendon (achillodynia)
  • ailments of the patellar tendon
  • irritations of the lateral hip bursa (trochanteric bursitis)
  • pain in the soft tissue close to the bones
  • chronic tenseness
  • chronic pain
  • back pain
  • disturbances in the shoulders and arms
  • knee and hip troubles
  • fibromyalgia

High-energy pressure and electromagnetic waves pass through the skin into the affected joints and tissue. To make it simple, shockwaves are used to activate the body’s self-healing powers. The metabolism is improved, the blood circulation enhanced; the damaged tissue can start to regenerate. In cases of calcifications, this will lead to a reduction of the deposits within four to six weeks. After that, the body will completely decompose the remaining small calcareous fragments.

infusion therapy

Infusion therapy is applied to individually treat different disease patterns over short periods and with fast results. It is especially used in acute pain therapy and against tenseness.

Patients taking anticoagulants can also get infusions, as in their cases injections into the joints shall rather be avoided due to the higher risk of bleeding.

Laser therapy

Laser applications introduce large amounts of energy into the tissue without causing any pain. This results in a biostimulation accelerating the healing processes in the affected tissue.

In particular, the following effects of laser therapy stand out:

  • pain killing
  • anti-inflammatory processes
  • reduction of swelling
